Frequently Asked Questions
Why is starting my remodel with an experienced designer the best decision?
Working with an experienced designer isn't just about choosing finishes—it’s the design management that keeps your budget and timeline on track. Starting with a dedicated designer means every decision is made in advance, resulting in fewer costly changes, and a space tailored specifically to how you live.
What does working with Mott Designs through the design & build process mean for me?
Since Mott Designs handles everything from initial concepts and 3D renderings to managing daily construction, you can be sure that your designs are carried through to completion. With one point of contact from start to finish, you'll enjoy the process along with the finished product.
What are the typical steps in a kitchen or bath remodel?
1. Initial Consultation & Budgeting
2. Concept & Material Selection
3. Detailed Design & Contracting
4. Demo & Construction
5. Final Walkthrough
Do I need to move out during the remodel process?
For bathroom remodels, if another bath exists, usually no. For major kitchen remodels, staying on-site is possible with a temporary mini-kitchen set up, however there is dust, noise, and the construction crew's presence to keep in mind.
